New to objkt - Denise Sánchez

With just seven months "in the house," her genesis (first mint) on the objkt platform took place on January 19, 2024. The artist already has a substantial collection that should not be missed.

Denise Sánchez, a visual artist and graphic designer, hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she lives and works. A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, Denise shares that she has always been fascinated by the works of great masters from the Renaissance to the Bauhaus, influences that merge her two passions: art and design.

"My encounter with art is often intuitive; I work from improvisation and like to let the work surprise me. However, I also recognize that my processes are filled with self-imposed rules that develop into systems, often graphic, which are closely related to my profession," Denise responds when asked who speaks louder in her creative process: the artist or the designer.

And it’s in this dialogue between chaos and method that the star emerges. Denise often creates a bridge between the digital and physical in her works, crafting collages with various elements and combining digital techniques. Her genesis on the objkt platform began in January 2024 with the work Wonderland: "This piece reflects much of my childhood world, including my visits to the Chinese neighborhood in Buenos Aires and my passion for anime, as well as my love for graphic design. It captures the vibrant colors and cultural influences that were significant to me as I grew up."

In Galactic Pinball, Denise describes "the rebellion of an out-of-control pinball, triggering a journey through childhood memories." The series, selected for the 2024 National Painting Salon of La Pampa, is inspired by the mechanics of a pinball machine, with transitions and chain reactions. "I relate this to the playful aspect because I was fascinated by how everything gets activated in the game. Winning or losing was secondary; what really captivated me was watching how chance unfolded," she explains.

Denise's use of color is particularly striking when she employs dark backgrounds. Hexagram 36, featured in her portfolio on Behance, speaks to the importance of protecting our inner light in times of darkness: "like the social and economic challenges we are currently facing in Argentina," she critiques. "The work aims to reflect this concept by using contrasting colors against dark backgrounds to emphasize the need for preservation and resilience."

Denise entered the world of NFTs out of curiosity, guided by her friend and fellow artist Luciana Guerra, who helped her with the initial steps in the onboarding process into this universe.

"What I enjoyed the most was discovering a wonderful community of artists that I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet if it weren’t for this new world that opened up to me. The experience has been extremely rewarding," she says.

Currently, Denise Sánchez is working on a new series, Carnavalito: "a creative response to difficult times," she explains. "I'm focusing on movement, vibrant colors, and gestural brushstrokes. Influences from Buenos Aires' Chinese neighborhood and childhood memories intertwine, capturing the spirit of celebration and hope," she concludes.
